could somebody please tell me if there are any differences between a escort mk3 and a mk4 steering column.thanks.

The actual axle is the same. The columns are interchangeable mechanically, but you'll end up with a mk4 ignition barrel etc. Not sure if mk3 light and indicator controls will mount properly.
