i am looking into tuning a ford and was wondering what engine would be best to look at for large bhp and torque.
im think either a 2.0 zetec or a 2.0 yb cosworth.
im looking to put one in a ford escort mk1 or a granada.
i am also interested in the 2.3 dohc ford put in the scorpio, are these any good and worth tuning ?

stage 3 yb sounds like a plan to me

 

If turbo go for YB, if N/A go for DURATEC.

not sure about how much i will spend but was looking for about 500 bhp.
would prefer a turbo but not after major lag.

 

sounds like a pretty high spec'd yb for you mate, get it spec'd for you driving with a turbo that spins up quickly

what sort of power would i get from a stage 3 yb ?

 

depends on turbo choice amoungst other things

a stage 3 will do between 330-380'ish bhp
