1600 turbo conversion

has anyone turbod the 1600 zetec, i know everyone will say buy the 2.0 but iv got a 1600 so im gonna use it, how difficult is the conversion, what will i need? thanx

Which zetec? Do you mean like an early fiesta/escort type or the later focus 1.6 yamaha engine?
Anyway.. you turbocharge it the same as any other engine.. lower the compression ratio.. make it strong enough.. give it a turbo and more fuel and a suitable calibration to control it all![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
I reckon the 1.6 Zetec-E would make a lovely 200bhp turbo engine with a standard head.. not sure what valve springs you'd need though.

there normally overlooked due to valve size but i know of a few people considering trying it as a project, he said it wont make that much power but will be nippy enough and make all the right noises.
