Default mounting map Sensor

Someone told me that the map sensor has to be mounted a certain way.. ie the plug needs to be at the top!!! Is this true?? At the mo its mounted where the plug is at the bottom..

what sort of map sensor. if your talking about an ofab one then the vacume pipe needs to be facing down also its ment to be eathed.

A 2/3 bar MAP sensor for a Cosworth needs to be mounted upside down

This is so the internal pressure sensing part has the correct 'zero setting' to start with before any pressure/vacumm is applied

Sorry forgot to put its on my ERST 2.1 zvh... Has a 3 bar on it!!

Doesn't need to be earthed by the screws, its all in the wiring

yes its in the wiring but one of the screw holes has an earth tab suggesting that that screw should go to earth as it does in the oe application

Indeed, works perfectly fine without though!

The installation on a FRST is very crude in this respect aswell.

The nipple needs to face downward as this is to stop moisture/oil getting in to it and damaging it.
