Saff Exhaust Manifold Leaking
Noticed the manifold on the 2wd saff is leaking a bit, seems to be where the manifold elbow meets the other part before the turbo (really crap explanation but not sure what its called).
Is there supposed to be a gasket in between the two as there doesn't look like there is?
Presume its a case of unbolt the manifold from head and turbo, unbolt the 2 sections and put new gasket in or if there isn't supposed to be a gasket then I should use some exhaust sealing paste?
Is that right?
EDIT: how much do good second hand manifolds go for as it does look a little tired?
Cheers
Ben

maybe its been knocked, will have to take it off and see, but need to know if a gasket should be used between the two parts

cheers for taking the pic
thats the part it seems to be around the bottom of that part where you can just see the nuts, but the black marks are on the other side under the turbo, there is no other sign of marks from what I can see, but on tickover at cold there is a touch of smoke coming from that area

i know what your talking about, these below.
they are commonly called trousers, but i'm pretty sure there is no gasket; its unusual for them to leak there; make sure you havent got a hairline crack or anything.
the bolts are notoriously difficult to undo, alot of people end up rounding the bolts off, you will need a socket that fits in the middle and on the outside of the bolt - be prepared to get angry with em! - if you do manage to get them off there is no reason why you cant use sealant, but as i said very weird for them to leak there, my money is on it being pitted through or cracked maybe

looks like its a case of taking it all off and seeing if I can find the problem, as I said its not a lot of smoke and you can't really tell where its coming from either but these are the only soot marks I can find with it in situ. Will take a look at the weekend now
Do you know where I can get replacement bolts from and the size fo them?
Cheers
