Replacing Manifold Nuts
I have recently removed the head of the saff to replace the head gasket.
I was aiming to replace the nuts when i refit the manifolds, as the ones i have taken off are worn and slightly rounded, and i dont want to have a problem removing them in the future.
My question is, is there a specific type of nut i should be using? the ones removed have some small slots in them. I can pick up some stainless steel or normal mild steel ones from work..
Cheers.

Std nylock nuts will be fine on the inlet side, but exhaust side needs either the correct ones or K nuts, another way is to use SS nuts but squash them slightly in a vice so they are ever so slightly out of shape, this will make them stay on.

Cheers for the reply guys, have looked at the k nuts but they are very expensive! 75p each, maybe they are overkill?
I am going to a nut and bolt shop on way home from work today, are the copper nuts best? and are they just a standard m8 or so they have a locking feature?
Also, what is copperslip, have not come across that before...
Cheers.
