Question MK3 Mondeo diesel engine swap

Hello all!
I have been offered a Y reg Diesel Mondeo at a good price only problem is its sucked water through the air intake and as a result doesn't run!
i'm thinking the easiest way to resolve it is to swap out the complete engine (unless anyone knows better)
it current;y has fitted the Duratorq DI 90BHP engine.
Can i fit a 115BHP TDDi engine instead? Is it a straight swap? if not waht needs modifying?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Cheers Griff

you sure on the engine mate?

but sucking water up through the system will kill it deader than dead, but the block and head rather than the electrics and stuff

Yeah thats what i thought! hence the reason for the engine swap rather than repair!

As for the engine i'm only going off whats written on the engine cover and the guy that owns it says its the 90BHP model.

you can just fit everything off a 115/130 bou not a 6speed!
make sure you use origional flywheel as there are loads of types and it wont run if wrong one fitted.

make sure you get the PCM (ECU) and have it re-coded to match your keys from ford.

Sean.

Nice one mate!
By "fit everything" do you mean all the electrics, cooling, power steering, alternator etc?
Should i use flywheel off engine thats knackered or the one with the replacement engine?

Cheers Griff

if you are changing flywheels, you would be better of getting one of the solid ones rather than the dmf versions as you'll have to remove everything all over again if it packs up
