hi there, um new to this website so bare with me! i have a problem with my mk6 escort gti, when u start it up from cold it runs perfectly, but when it starts to get hot it starts to try and stall and wont rev or accelerate and cuts out!.when u leave it to cool down it runs perfect again, ive changed the airflow meter, the throttle position switch, the coil pack for the leads, i havn't tryed the cam sensors yet,can anybody help me out!?!?cheers pykey!

I would look at a new coolant temp sensor.

Could also be the Lambda sensor, it only kicks in when warm.

on a different car i had same sort of issue, changed all type of sensors and meters etc....it turned out to be a blocked fuel filter that was somehow getting pressure when hot....exactly the same symptons as you've described

changed the thermostat sensor with the aid of my mate stevie! and it ran alright for a while then it wouldnt rev under load over 4500 rpm, didnt try cutting out but i didnt drive it that far but we did run it up till it was hot and the fan kicked in a couple of times.Thanks a lot for the feed back that ive had off all of u, its much appreciated! ile try the filter next as it hasnt bin changed for a while...... cheers again pykey!

Right will try Lambda sensor tomorrow, what time do you finish work tomorrow Pykey? Do you wanna meet me at whip street chantry branch??? Im sure I have got one there you can try! I can be there for about 5.30???

FRom waht you describe, it won't be the lambda.
Lambda's, DON'T "only kick in when warm"!!

could be a crank sensor problem, seen it happen this way on a few vauxhalls.

maf,mass airflow sensor? crank sensor is behind the bottom fly wheel isnt it?????????
