Post XR2i - unsolvable problem?! Please help

I have a XR2i G reg - engine runs perfectly from cold start but once the engine is warm & you try to start it up -it stalls as soon as you take your foot of the gas & the revs are all over the place up & down? Local mechanic's are totally puzzled - they have changed the cold start, the temp sensor, fuel line & all the electronic diagnostic's are coming up clear. They have no clue what is causing the problem - can anyone here help?

They must be bloody crap then, find a DECENT garage.
I would look at the idle CO, when hot as a first thing, also look for air leaks.
