i took the rocker cover off and found a couple of small shards of metal!
i then took the sump off and found more shards in there!!
the engine was leaking oil into the piston chambers and burning the oil!!
what cld the shards be, im thinking piston ring or seal off sumthing???

Won't be rings if shards as they are really brittle material, but it clearly needs to come apart anyway.

could be anything, gravity generally means things end up in the sump. it could be bearing material, or even where its had machining done before and it hasn't been cleaned properly before being put together!
