rs turbo Kjet
hello all
could someone explain to me how the kjet system works on the escort rs turbo. I have a 16V golf that uses a metering unit and mechanical injectors for fuel but runs an ignition control unit for the spark.
I've always understood that rs turbos could be tuned on the rolling roads but what is actually adjusted/do they have any form of map?? - I know all about the efi fiesta setup just little about the mfi
any help on understanding them would be great, always trying to learn more stuff and the best way to find out is to ask the people that mess about with them the most!!
Cheers
Paul

it could take a while to do but the rs turbo runs a KE jetronic system
it is very similar to the K jetronic which has no ecu.
you can map a KE system because the metering valve has and extra unit attached called a pressure actuator that is ecu controled to modify fuel mixtures across the range, the k jetronic metering valve doesnt
and the ignition sysem also has a ecu to change the ignition map.
thats as simple as it gets.
