rs2000 non start?
hello guys, right my rs2000 will only start if you hold open the throttle fully but then gives one rev and dies (like when an engine is flooded) before it would idle but as soon as you touched the throttle it would die also. my first thoughts were a sticking injector causing over fueling, replaced injectors still the same problem.
a couple of times it would chuck so much fuel down the bores it would stop the engine from turning over
any one got any ideas?

hmm, not that far really, ive got a spare engine but havent all the ancillary's ect, cant work out whats causing the mass over fueling. any one no what sensors could cause this?
Have you taken the fuel rail off and inspected the seals between the rail and the head - this is a known fault, and ford dont offer replacement seals - in their infinite wisdom, they were only ever available as part of a complete inlet manifold (along with injectors etc) - for around #850!!!
A trick some people have used with varying degrees of success is to remove the seals, soak them in boiling water, freeze them, then repeat a few times - and sometimes they'll revert back to their original shape. Job done.
Remember to depressurize the fuel rail before you remove it - just pull the relevant fuse for the fuel pump, and let her idle til she stops.
Let us know how you get on, and hope that helps?

lambada sensors will be telling the ecu weather the mixture used is rich or lean so they could affect it. be sure to check you throttle postion sensor wirse fully though. i just rebuilt an i4 lump and all was totally fine apart from the wires goign to the coilpack for cylinder 1 and 3, they had compleatly fallen apart inside the heat insulation. may be worth you checking the wires from the plug to the ecu plug with a muiltimeter for continuity
