Angry cossy head gasket

Best way to tell if head gasket has gone as loseing water. i have looked under the engine turbo side and there is a white staine in the middle of the block but it look's like it comes from higher up.there is no mayonaise like in cam cover or the header tank?

Look at the oil filler cap to see if theres white mayo looking sludge, check the header tank for oily water and if your still unsure you can get a head gasket testing kit.

Set cooling system under pressure, whit a pump, and locate the leaking. What side of block do you see white staine ?

the other easy test is just to ask a garage to put the exhuast testing probe in the top of the header tank -(not under the water though) this will show up any combustion by products being passed into the cooling system - a sire sign the HG is leaking.

The normal place for a gasket to go is above the rearmost core plug on the exhaust side, especially on 2wd(heads) as water ways different shape, and gasket not supported as well as a 4wd one.
If losing ONLY water, not performance, and no water in oil then it has obviously gone outwards so sniffer test will not show anything, where abouts Norfolk are you, as some other people could have a look/help see ?

It may be worth every penny, but is a bit pointelss if it has not bust through the sealing ring, or into a oil way as will be a waste of money.
As a stain can be seen, might as well do the free stuff first.
Some would pay for it some not, but some pay thier bills and some don't!!

If it is corroded it can easily be welded and skimmed, so all is not lost, they generally corode due to lack of anti freeze.

Check if the rad hoses are getting hard after a run, if so the gasket has failed on the water jacket
