'94 Escort 1.6 zetec Gearbox Screaming in 2nd
hi,
Hope someone can help me. I have a '94 escort 1.6 Si that is sreaming during override/engine breaking. This is the second box in this car and has just had a new clutch at the same time the old box was changed just over 2 months ago. The old box did the same thing and also lost drive to the roadwheels a couple times within the same day. Also later when car had been parked for most of the day while at work tried reversing out of the parking bay and it just suddenly jerked and wouldn't move until i rengaged reverse. Anybody know what is the cause of this, i don't think it's the clutch as the old clutch looked fine with only a little silver ring showing on the edge of the pressure plate fingures.

Thanks for the replys, it was a mechanic friend of mine who did the work so i don't know weather the clutch shaft was greased or not. I had a suspcion that it was the box again which is rather anoyying. I now have a debate on weather it's worth repairing as it's been in for an mot bout a month ago and failed on numerous points. mot details can be found online at htttp//:www.motinfo.gov.uk. Reg is M206cey mot no.531395418094. with all this work i'm not sure weather it's worth the time and money to fix it up.
