HI IM PUZZLED IVE JUST BROUGHT A SECOND HAND STAGE 3 TURBO,GARRETT, AND HAVE FOUND PLAY IN THE SHAFT ?SHOULD THIS BE THERE ON THESE? WAS TOLD IT IS FINE BY OWNER NOT ENTIRLY CONVICED IT MOVES SIDE TO SIDE AND TO ME SOUNDS LIKE THE PROPELLER BLADES WOULD CATCH ON IN MOTION, OR IS IT DESINED THIS WAY AS WHEN AT TEMP IT SPINS PERFECT????? REALLY STUCK HOPE IVE NOT BEEN RIPPED OFF ANY HELP MOST APPRECIATED

4-5mm is waaaay too much and the blades shouldn't catch on anything even without oil pressure. The axle should move side to side ~0.5mm. It will always feel like much more than when you actually measure it.

Agreed if it had 4-5mm it would have disintergrated by now.
They will even when new have a little wiggle but as said is less than 20thou(NEW), as they are sleeve bearings.
