zetec transplant!
right gonna stick a rs1800 1.8 zetec in a mk3 cabbie, has anyone done this before?
just wondering what the best way to go about the clutch, exhaust and rev counter really.
the cvh has a dizzy whereas the zetec is wasted spark so is there a signal wire from the ecu that will create the correct pulses for the orignal rev counter or wil i have to convert the signal, and does anyone know the correct diodes etc to do this?
also i know a cvh manifold will fit the zetec but is this the best way to do the exhaust or is it better to mix and match the systems? havent picked up the new engine yet so dont know what bits ill get yet!
also which flywheel/clutch arrangement is best to use!
only putting it in for relibility as this is a runauround so not fussed on power just ease of fitting and making it look right not just dropped in!!!

edis 4 is needed and has a wire (green) i think that is rev counter if you get a rs 1800 engine you can use same clutch and fly and bolt a cvh box on
cvh manifold wont bolt straight on use zetec manifold or a 4 branch you need lamba sensor for it to run right easy to do conversion
just need to modify engine mount and all bolt in

doh have only got the manifold no downpipe, does the rs1800 have egr as the manifold has the egr pipes fitted to it or have i got a 2.0 manifold?
is the rev counter signal already converded to the 4 pulse as per a dizzy or will the signal have to be converted for the rev counter to read correctly?

Ive got a rs1800 engine in my mk3 escort, i used a 1.8 105bhp flywheel, rst clutch and xr3 g/box. I used the mk5 xr3i escort manifold and down pipe, with egr blanked off, and flange welded on to piper xr3 system to suit mk5 down pipe. Ul have to use the zetec wiring loom and ecu, if ur using the efi. And take a wire from the EDIS pin 1 or 11 and feed it to ur rev counter........
