Default mondeo remote tail gate

Hello,

my Mondeo mk3 tailgate has a mind of it's own. When I start the car up the tailgate releases then at random after that even whilst driving. I have taken the private lock situated on the hatch off and checked and cleaned it and it is working fine. I can only assume it has something to do with a module of some type under the drivers footwell. Any ideas anyone I am becoming really frustrated!!!

Thank you!!

The button on the dash does not work. Could this be the fault? What is it meant to do? doe sit work the same as the fob, press twice within 3 seconds.

It`s probably the switch on the tailgate. It comes water innside it, and the problem is there. Sometimes it dosen`t work at all. I have changed many of them

The button on the dash should be working 2 mate, its so ya can open boot if sat in car and it should just be a press once jobbie but not when engine is running for safety.
Maybe it is the switch whats thrown a wobbler, try new 1 buddy.
Good luck and sorry for slow reply thought it would of been answeared quick.
Regards steve.

Is the microswitch available from Ford? just the switch with two slim wires or do I have to buy the full casing and rubber?

Thanks

It`s two types of this, one you get only microswitch, the other one, you got the hole casing. It depends on production code of the car
