Default Starting Problem!

My 4x4 Sapphire has developed this rather annoying sound when trying to start it. It goes to start then seems to jam with a sudden grinding sound. If i try again more often than not it will start???

It only happens when the car is hot and has been standing for between 0-1 hour. First thing in the morning its good as gold!!

Please help

Might need a new battery or alternator or maybe some new wiring mate.

The starter motor is not engaging properly coz it can't draw the correct amount of current from the battery or down the old decaying wires.

Mate had the same on his S1. Fine in the cold, but once the engine had been warm would want to start. Nearly bought the new starter myself. Sick of pushing the bloody thing.

take the starter off and undo the bolts that hold the solenoid together,it'll properly only need a clean up(it's rusty round the terminals use wd40 or something along that line to clean it)! DONT think you can use ordinary sierra starters m8!
