Default Head Rattle.

Bad news, after only owning my car for 5 days its already encountered problems. I started it this morning to come to work and it was running very rattly.

The rattle came from the top end of the engine, and when revved past 2.5k revs it would feel like a miss fire.

Any ideas ? Help.

Right, ive removed my rocker cover.

Cant see anything there that would be causing the problem. It got dark, so tomorrow im going to check the rockers, springs and tappets. I hope its a cheap solution.

could be one of a few things, (especially if jamsport have touched it!) possibly a sticking valve, does it look like its had a new cambelt recently?, as could be a sticking (bent) valve!

Usually noisy engine and CVH means no/low oil pressure. Check this first before going any further!

Should be minimum 15psi with HOT oil at idle.

When hot, engine should have minimum 40psi pressure at 2500rpm.

(Note: hot means oil temps of 80DegC or more, which means engine should be run for a minimum of 15 minutes to warm up)
