Default Mondeo 1.8 Duratec tuning?

Hi all,has anybody had any experience with the 1.8 Duratec engines?I have one in my 2001 Mondeo and it has to be THE most uneconomical car ive ever owned. My wife has a 2.0 24valve 6 cylinder Bmw that does more to the gallon!

Can i do anything about the mpg,i.e chips etc.....Would this even help? Its serviced regularly as its a taxi so its kept in good order(I didnt buy a diesel because im not a fan!)

Please help

Sounds like something is wrong. It should be quite economical unless you thrash it etc.

It should go better than that!! Check start checking the sensors. Could be a dirty connection or something.
