Default rs 2000 4x4 transmission problem....

i am having trouble with a mates 4x4, the car vibrates when up to speed, the intial problem was a drive shaft but my mate thought it was the transfer box, we changed this then fitted the right shaft, this took the original vibration away but now at around 3k revs the full car shakes about, my mate seems to think its the gearbox but i think we should fit the cars original transfer box just to eliminate whether its the new box or something else on the car....................... if anybody can point me in the right direction it would be really appreciated as i've never had much experience with these cars!!!

sound like the propshaft isnt running straight! you oviously took the propshaft off to change the transfere box, are you sure you bolted the middle section of the propshaft in the excact same positon as if its not running straight this would make the car vibrate. it would only need to be out of line a little to cause it to vibrate

my mate stripped it i had to re-build it, driving the car it felt like the prop, when all wheels off the ground and run in gear the prop looks like it runs straight as a dye, i did check the prop to find it had been marked before and lined them up but no difference??? the engine dances about on the mounts but seem tight enough when when theres no load on them..........

the front gearbox rubber doesnt look the best...... it all started after a silly sideways moment!! it popped the n/s/f shaft and damaged the inside cup, he fitted a zetec shaft into the damaged cup, it was vibrating thru the steering, i had a simalir problem with an evo... the shaft.... he was against my opinion and bought a transfer box and i helped him fit it and the proper shaft, this took the vibration away from the steering then presented this new vibration thru the full car?? i want to try the cars original transfer box but he wants to go and buy a new gearbox and try that!!!
