I want a ZVH Built for me.....
... But who by?
Been thinking this over for a while now.
Hasn't got to be massive power, but i would like around 280bhp (flywheel)
The reason i want this sort of power, is that i went in a mates car with a 2.0 zvh 280bhp @ fly and it was fucking stupid! I loved it.
Yes it had loads of wheel spin but i couldn't give a shit! The pull though 3rd gear was ridiculus!
Anyway. Who should i choose to build me one?
Who did you use/would you recomend? Why?
Also, if you are not into the idea of ZVH and would rather do a Full zetec turbo, i would rather you didnt post as it will turn into a big argument post.
Thanks Billy

TBH mate, If the best engine builder is miles away, wouldn't you rather go to him than someone closer who might not be as good?
There's good reason why everyone is naming the same person!!

280 is relatively over the top for a zvh in most people's eyes. lol
Why not just get from whoever your mate got his from if you are pleased with that one?

Thats the thing, the bloke with this car worked at a certain tuning company near by. Built it himself. If i take the car to said company i may never see it again
Anyway, i might get him to build it but thought id see what else is on offer as my mate is snowed under with work at the mo.
What do you mean 280 is over the top? I've 300+ knocking about!

280 is still alot to get from a 2.0 8v, head will need alot of work, rods if staying standard might need some work, pistons, block work to accept manifold unless going tubular, management/injectors...
wont be 'cheap', not if you want it done right.. I know you dont want 16v, but there are people on here with ZVH's who say, if they would do it again, they'd go 16v instead of ZVH

I swear i said at the top, if you dont like zvh and prefer full zetec please keep it to yourself. Cos the post will start to wander from a company you recomend to why it "better" to do a full zetec.
Thanks
Thanks

why not do the block so it can be chnaged back to 16v at a later date so if you want the change the choice is there seen some one just tap the oil ways and put flush sittin bolts in there ! as for your buget only one place to get parts from for a zetec bottom end and thats the usa ! your lookin £500 pistions and rods deliverd to your door ! sure some one on here has them in a ZVH runnin 400+bhp the ZOO fiesta? as for the head work i would talk to C&B hes gettin 350bhp out his 1.6 sure he could work wounders or can point you in the right direction the just take it to the man him self at area six and have him build it all up proply
hope thats some help lol

If I posted a topic on here "how do I undo wheel nuts with an apple, please dont mention wheel braces" I would be limiting the usefullness of the replies I get to my dilema of taking my wheels off I suspect, maybe you have done the same?
Might be worth at least saying WHY you dont like 16v heads, as it might be something you are mistaken about?

I didn't know that was a possibility mate. That sounds like a good idea. I have been looking at Pistons and rods from the u.s.a. Most kits come with rings, arp bolts etc...
Area six or norris would be doing the head work, with a decent cam (newmans) using my T34.63 turbo and a custom inlet plenum, put together properly and who knows what will happen!

sounds like a good build, yeah to do the 8v head im sure its the 4 oil ways on the front of the block thats is blocked up as there not needed , so you could just tap in to the oil ways with then use some flat bolts and some sorta sealent ? then if u wanted to go full blown zt just take the head off remove the 4 bolts and put the 16v head on sorted
