all i wanted to do was put a new exhaust manifold gasket on and refit a stud and a small object fell into the manifold and dropped down into the turbo. so anoying.

As above it'll be fine - HOWEVER that can be a PROPER cunt of a job!

One turbo i did i had to grind 4 of the bolt heads off because they were seized solid and then rounded off.

And even then i had to SMASH the housing off with a lump hammer........and if it doesn't come off square theres a chance you might damage the fins on the turbine.

If it comes off easy then its a straight forward job though

You should be a precision engineer mate with your lump hammer. Have you ever thought of making watches?

I have got them off in the past by heating the nuts up and getting a good fitting 6 sided socket.

i mean the housing not the bolts.

And you can't get a socket in on the exhuast housing bolts or at least not all of them
