ST170 Engine & Series 3 Zetec Cams
I'm looking into using an ST170 engine, basically, cause it's got better headwork, conrods etc
Now all the variable stuff will be binned, and I'll be using my WeberAlpha throttle bodies & management.
Now, I want to know if normal S3 zetec cams will physically bolt into the bare ST170 head, as I can't use my current S1 Zetec cams in it, and would also like to go to something a little bigger than what I'm currently using.

Not only does the inlet cam have one larger journal size (the first one), but it is also slightly displaced longitudinally. The exhaust cam has the same journals, but..........
Both cam profiles are matched to the different valve stem length and solid cam followers, so the base radius is also different to standard Series 3 (Blacktop) cams.
Don't know what the spec is but Piper do reprofiled ST170 cams. Also Ian Howell has developed specification for ported ST170 head, valves and cams.
