Default starting problem please help im unsure.

well here goes.

when i put the key in and go to turn the engine the starter motor solenoid clicks over but the engine dosent turn, im thinking this is the starter motor coil, but then when i drive the car the go in a shop for example so thats 5 mins not running it starts fine. so this is making me think it is something else as it only dosent start when its firts time in the day or it has been left for a while.

help please. much appricieated.

Most likely just a sticky solenoid, try to see if you can get someone else to hold it in the start position whilst you whack the starter solenoid to see what happens.

the soleniod shifts over but no power got sent to the coil to turn the motor.

thing is i took my cigarette lighter out as i thought something must be draining power and this was the last thing, ever since its been okay but i dont know if its just a bit of lick till it dies again

thanks tabetha

hello matey have you had ur battery checked because if a cell is down /breaking down in the battery it will not hold enough charge to start the car , but when u have started the car and drove it u will get surface charge in the battery that will compensate for the failing cell , if not then a starter problem is deffo
