Default help with rev counter

ok, i have a fiesta rs turbo engine in my ka. just wandering what is required to run an Autogauge rev counter. set it to 4 cylinders and it only reads half of the rpm. so how do i get this to work with the d.i.s unit?

all help very gratefully recevied

tried getting an answer on fiesta turbo but noone seems interested....

it doesnt have a 2 cylinder setting otherwise i would...
