Thermo housing unless you use a reusable cometic, water pump sump plug and half moons, also under cam caps(front) as they will leak here otherwise.
Even ford say use it there!!

Oh really?

You sure you don't mean you know some chimps that work for Ford and they said to use it?!

What would be the point in a gasket if they advised using sealant? Nissans for example are known for using sealant on sumps, but theres no gasket on them.

Usually one or the other.

i used it on all my gaskets BUT DEFFO NOT ON THE HEADGASKET!!! wouldnt use it on the rockercover gasket either

i used some loctite stuff.. good stuff imo..

i would advise to use it on the sump also.. but i would say that cos ive experienced my sump leaking..lol

Try as I might I cannot find where I have said use sealant instead of a gasket.
If the right sealant is used it can replace most gasket though, ie sumps, water pump, thermo, housing, rocker cover, it is, or can be more modulous than a rigid gasket.

Tabetha i swear you are on a different planet sometimes.

The point i am demonstrating:

Some manufacturers use gaskets.

Some manufacturers use sealant.

rare is the day they use BOTH.

old Fords use gaskets, NOT sealant?

Whether ford or anybody else use gaskets or sealants on their own is not the issue it is what actually works in the real world.
Most, if not everybody, has had leaks with what the manufacturere used, so use sealants to help.

ffs stop arguing about gaskets and seelants, the reason for the gasket is to make a seal so seelans is not necessary if there is gasket, also modern gaskets have multiple layers and mould just fine.

NO NEED FOR BODGE SEELANT!!! IF YOUR GOING TO USE SEELANT JUST USE DUCT TAPE FOR GASKETS IN THE FUTURE.
