A non custom basically means none of the luxuries, so no electrics, sunroof, etc

The pop out windows aren't really of much relevenace IMO as they are easily fitted anyway.

hes saying late b plates and all c plates were customs
just had a proper argument with him i said customs
were just a option and there were a lot more customs
as it was very popular to have and the nons were
a lot rarer the the customs is this right?

You are correct mate, the non customs were obviously a fair amount cheaper because of this, but were actually also the better cars really, mainly because of the fact there is no sun roof to go rusty.

Non customs are rare though, probably why your know it all mate is stuck in his views

Yes mate still got it.

Dodgy electrics? The electrics in the Mk3's are actually very good, and its BASIC, very rare for it to go wrong!

There doesn't appear to be much difference in value between them to be honest, a mint & genuine s1 with history is worth good money irrespective.

Most would actually probably actually prefer the customs though because its always nice to have electric windows and central locking, especially when you have an alarm

IT MUST HAVE BEEN JUST MINE WITH DODGEY ELECTRICS THEN....THAT WAS THE MAIN REASON FOR ME SELLING IT...IT HAD 3 FUEL PUMP RELAY SWITCHES.JUST KEPT EATING THEM..1 MINUTE IT WOULD RUN FOR DAYS ,THEN OTHER DAYS WOULD REFUSE TO START,I TOOK IT TO SEVERAL SPECIALISTS AND COULD NOT SORT IT,THEY KEPT TELLING ME ITS GOT TO PLAY UP B4 THEY COULD PIN POINT THE PROB..AND YES EACH TIME I TOOK IT DOWN IT WOULD RUN FINE,SODS LAW

I put a glass in cos there was a cat jumping through the hole and sleeping in it

Other than that ive done nothing, almost certain im guna get rid of it.

jayjay, S2 are also available in non custom, i cant remember if its only early s2's that were available in non custom as a lot of stuff became standard spec on the late cars.

i THINK aswell the s2 non customs hold value a bit better, but i could be wrong
