Problems with volts from the battery
Hi there, Im currently trying to install a Megasquirt ECU in my MK 5 Escort Cab. We've been having a problem with the voltage from the battery when cranking, instead of the regular 12vs im only getting 9vs. Im getting this with both the standard ECU and the MS. Iv been told that the MS needs the full 12vs to run the injectors hence no luck starting it so far, where as the standard ECU doesnt need the 12vs to turn over?
Any clues any1?
Also; Can any1 make an eeciv connector to msv3 and also make an adaptor plug and bulk if so how much?
Cheers

The problem will not be down to battery voltage whilst cranking. I don't know what version of software your MS uses but the one I've looked through has voltage compensation for the injectors allowing for a range of 7.2 to 19.2 volts. I cannot imagine any ecu not compensating for variance in battery voltage otherwise the ecu could never deliver it's fuel accurately.
If the injectors aren't firing, have you checked to see if the MS is getting the crank position signal?

Cheers guys,
Its my m8 who is more technical than me. He built an Escort 2.1L turbo'd zetec on megasquirt n he cant figure out wats wrong with it.
What type of wire do you suggest to make the loom as im running direct coil?
