Default Mk6 Escort

How easy is it to fit a rev counter to this? standard, not aftermarket.

How do you do it?

S-Reg Encore by the way

This may help messcort

Taken from another forum:

hi there
im new here but just did my rev counter on my 1.6 chicane
first get some mk6 clocks with rev counter
then go to passenger footwell take off cover and there is the ecu
pull it out (it slides after removing 10mm bolt)
on pin 4 you will see a white and black wire (scotchlock or similar into it
this one goes to pin 8 on the blue connector on the back of the clocks
if you have a spare connecter (scrapyard) you can take the connector out and put it in your plug easily
put it all together and away you go
let me know if you understand as its easy really

it was from http://www.feoc-uk.com/ a ford escort forum, do a search and theres a few things on there about it fitting a standard rev counter.

Basically, you're cutting into the wire from pin 8 and sending that to the tach, a scotchlock allows you to "steal" signals from the wire that you are scotchlocking. Think of a T-junction.

I haven't actually looked mate but i would imagine from top left and then bottom right and you should find the white and black wire but as said I don't really know

i was surprised because all of the connector pins look really odd on the plugs. i didnt think it would work but she started straignt up, i love it, and it saves fucking about with wiring aswell.
