It is NOT going to work correctly with the combo of parts(std chip).
I would NOT turn the boost up but be thankfull it has not done some damage yet, why would you want this to run correctly ?
The ONLY way this will run correct AFR is to have the chip changed or overwritten or change to the INJECTORS and MAP sesnsor that the(std) chip has been CALIBRATED FOR.
The point that jon@work was trying to mkae is it is suicidle to try to run this combo with std chip, he as I found it hard to beleive anyone would, or even expect it to work.
The "MIX" of parts must be right ie chip(settings) goes with certain injectors, map etc, you can't do pick + mix like in woolworths!!
You can of course have your chip rewritten on the oe chip with these bits, but would not advise changing the boost at all, just drive gently until it has been fixed, but it is your car, so turn away(boost) if so desired it can only go bang, and surely not worth it.

his input was perfectly valid and it seems that you don't know your arse from elbow

if you did, you would not be driving it like that

The standard chip will be assuming you're on yellow/standard injectors, which don't flow the same amount of fuel as your greens. This will completely upset the AFR. And we all know what that can mean...

The absolute least that needs to changed is the chip - a stage 3 or 2 one that will put the right amount of fuel (relative to stage 1 or standard!) into the cylinders. Or if you're taking it back to standard, swap the injectors for yellows and put a 2 bar MAP sensor on it.

In addition, the standard chip will cut the boost at 10psi because it's not capable of running higher. You can try and wind the actuator on as much as you want, but the ECU will have the amal valve wide open in the direction of the airbox.

you've missed the biggest part of the problem, which is not the injectors. it's the MAP sensor

the injectors will give more fuel, which is not ideal but is less dangerous to short term engine health than less fuel

but the MAP sensor will completely screw up the fuelling on boost, which is much worse. the ecu will be seeing your 10 psi boost as much less

How do Al matey, welcome to PF.

Im taking it this is Dans old car (DANNY-B)?

It was running Stage 3 before Dan got it, it also melted before he got it and it got a full rebuild. It was built with greens and 3 bar MAP sensor and put back on standard chip while getting run in I believe. However I think the lad who got it before Dan did not get the chip when he got the car so he just ran it as is for a few months, as did Dan, both of which had no problems at all engine wise. Id still be getting a chip and set up to suit. Its probably safer engine wise and much more fun that way.

looks like les dawson to me

there's not much to set up when you install a new chip. you need to get the fuel pressure checked, and the chip should come with instructions on how to set the CO pot if you bought a proper one from a reputable supplier. if you didn't, then you're probably not much further forward than using a std chip

foreigneRS it is Les Dawson. The man was a legend.

AL mate fit the chip and it should be ready to run. It is L6 ECU and chip you bought yeah? Take it to Stu or Carwise for a proper set up mate. If you doing it yourself tho then you could ask V-Sport in Boldon to do it. Fuel pressure should be set at 3bar, boost at 23psi and they will check the fuelling and boost all the way through the revs to make sure its not running lean at any point. Not sure how they are at tuning/setting up Cossies but they come in handy for using the rollers after modding to check gains/faults etc.

I got no way of checking fuel pressure mate or I would have. Sorry.

Id get it on the rollers asap to see if they pick up on any issues.
