Default Group A...?

Hi all,

My cossie is at my mechanics as we speak and he is replacing the oem ignition coil with a group A coil. I understand this to be better, but what exactly is Group A? Is it a motorsport specific standard?

Please do let me know guys as its doing my head in

Cheers!

group a is just an excuse to push up the price on uprated items.

it is a motorspecific standard, but i doubt this coil is a actual group a item.
Group a items usually has a 909 number printed and costs alot

Group a by definition has to be used on some oe cars.
The group a coils are well worth the money, without a shadow of a doubt the best £40 odd I have ever spent for the benefits.
It was not designed for fords but was in fact an OE part on LANCIA's .
At the price it is not expensive, but the difference in performance with one is immense, this is good and bad!!
Good for the benefits, but bad as it shows what a pile of crap ford put on there in the first place coil wise.
Even a boggo car benefits greatly from one.

Thanks guys...

Picked up the car from mates garage. plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, GpA COIL...

WOW its a new car. The best drive home in a long time. Its running smooth, boosts nicely. Your right, the best £50 spent on the GpA coil!!!

Next wage goes on an RS500 intercooler...
