Black is a switched live(on fords) so this sounds like the starter solenoid wire ?, if so it will not matter so long as you don't mind bump starting it everywhere!!

black is an un-fused ignition feed, the solenoid wire is a cranking feed, the wire will be black with either a blue/red stripe on it.

It usually exits the loom close to the passenger side and then for some reason doubles back across along the cross member

Without a cranking feed to the starter motor, you won't be able to start the engine short of bumping it

On the small nut there should only be a black & red/blue wire.

On the bigger nut will be the main red cable from the battery, and the 2 red wires coming from the alternator.

Amal valve:

C = compressor housing
W = actuator
R = return to the air box
