Default Flasher relay without wing repeaters?

Doing some finishing touches on my mates S1.

Don't want to have the wing repeaters no more, but when disconnected, the indicators flash quickly like they do if a main one was out.

This doesn't normally happen on most cars.
Had a quick look on microcat today to see if there might be a choice of flasher relay, as this can probably be the only reason for the faster flashing signal.

Haven't looked in any great detail, but do any of you peeps have any other ideas or finis codes.

Cheers.

Yeah, thought about that.
Had a read in the inpspection manual. It's early enough not to need wing repeaters.

It does help being a tester too!

Good idea with the dipped beam, been thinking about putting some 90/130's in too, via a relay escort lights are pretty poor at the best of times! As you may know.

I used 130/90 in my lights that had on escy(MK4) as they were crap, the worst lights I have ever had on a car!!
Made a big difference, made them as good as a Normal car running60/55!!!
I did thatdip/main trick on my mini, years ago, but now "seeing the light" and going HID.

Shoudlnt be any difference on the flasher unit, try another one it may just be old and worn.

Thats kind of what I thought,
I've pulled wing repeater bulbs off loads of cars in the past and it's never made much difference.

Might have to have a play this weekend.

Cheers.

It depends on wether the flasher unit is the old sort with bimetallic strip or electronic.
Bimetallic strip will be affected, how much I could not say.
Electronic one won't be, it will still give a on/off signal with nothing connected.

Where did I say they were fitted with these ?
It was merely a suggestion and gives a CURE, without nit picking what is not there.
