Default cvh vernier pulley

Hi there people, ive just fitted a kent cvh32 cam to a spare head ive got but im having a little bit of trouble working out where
the timing mark is on the vernier pulley.
If i put the standerd pulley on, the key way is at the bottom and the point on the pulley lines up with the timing mark on
the head but if i then take it off and put the vernier on the advance-retard marks are at the bottom and id of thought
they would be at the top to aid timing it up.
what am i doing wrong if any thing or am i just being stupid ?
thanks in advance for any advice given.
ps.its a kent cams vernier to go with the cam if it makes any differance.

It makes no difference where the marks are static, as it will still give a correct datum point of for cam timing to be tweakked either way, and that is the important bit.

As said, leave the cam in the same position (with the woodruff key at 6 o'clock) and fit the pulley, and you should be fine.

And then MOST importantly, make sure you spin your engine over 2 complete revolutions on the bottom pulley with a spanner to make sure nothing is making contact

Will the cam still function properly with out advancing or retarding the timing on the vernier ?
once ive got the new bottom end and head ran in im going to take my car to a tuner to get it set-up properly so if it will be ok ill leave it set to zero then let the tuner do it ?
cheers.

You should be able to set the vernier to 0 which is the same as a standard pulley until you're ready to get a set up.

If you set it to 0 and then place it up against your standard pulley you should see all the teeth line up.

best to spin it over by hand aswell first though, better safe than sorry
