Default zetec turbo how much boost?

hello all

i have acumilated all the parts to do a 2.0 zetec turbo conversion with a decomp plate being orderd from from the guy at http://www.zetec-turbo.co.uk/

im using a std t3 turbo and pace intercooler from an escort rs turbo and omex management

the standard rods and pistons will be retained to cut costs.

basicly im asking what boost should be used with this sort of setup

hopfuly some one here who has done it before will be able to help me out with my question

cheers Mr V

depends of the compression. and what t-3 do you have. a standard t-3 of an RST cant do much boost as one of the saph cos 4wd.

cheers

from a standard form. the t-3 from a saph 4wd is the biggest. it can flow more air then the t-3 of the saph2wd.

the saph cos turbocharger has a bigger ex.house and a bigger comperssorwheel. and the inlet of the comperssionhouse could be bigger. but for the conversion you are building, i think youre better of with the saph4wd t-3 then with the rst t-3 which is to small.

cheers

Just to clear things up:

____________RST S1/S2_____Cossie 2wd____Cossie 4wd
comp. trim._______40 ?____________55___________60
ex. housing_______.36____________.48___________.48

Same on all three:
compressor outer diameter
turbine wheel

I wouldn't want to run any more than a bar and only on the smaller RST turbo. Decomp plates are never a good idea. They do work for some people but I wouldn't be happy driving a car with one myself. Better to do it properly or not do it at all IMO.

i would say 18 psi at least you can run a 1.6 rst with a comp rate of 8.2.1 and more in some cases just do it you only live once
