Just needs a new valve, easy job cheaper than a new head as well, just get new valve and lap it in.

also the bottom pully hasnt got a timing notch on it , it says it has a timing tool wich locks the bottom pully at tdc , well i got the timing pin that you need to lock the bottom pully but there is no hole in the pully or block to put it in ??? any one got any ideas ??
There is a hole in front side of block, behind a 10mm bolt near the bottom, undo this and GENTLY TURN the crank until it contacts the pin on the cranks web inside engine.
You approximate TDC with wheel then turn back say 1/8 turn counter clockwise then install pin then bring onto contact by turning clockwise, you will feel it when it goes not more..

yeh iv just rebuilt a ztech and it not a locking pin, the crank just stops up against it like tabetha sead. and with the cams u need somthing long n thin to go across the slots on the back of the cams. i used a long screw driver.

not quite so simple. i take it uv taken the cam pullys off, b4 u put the belt on u gotta do one up, put the belt on, pull the belt tight across the 2 pullys then do the other one up. n make sure you use thread-lock, u dont want em comin undone. but if u aint taken em off then ye should b ok
oh and on the 1.8 zetec e engine there is a tensioner pully on the bottom near the bottom crank behind the black platic cover it seems my engine hasnt got one which cud of made the belt strip the teeth of it i think ..any clues?? its a 1999 zetec e the manual says its got a tensioner at the bottom neat the crank but when i took the black plastic bit behind the bottom pully of to get the belt out it seem the tensioner isnt there lol any ideas??
yeh. just gotta tension it up. if uv bort a cam belt kit then that shud b easy 2 just gotta bolt it on then pull the pin out once the belts on. put some marks on the cam pullys and bottom pully with some tipex or somthin then turn the engine over by hand n make sur they all line back up again
