Default Tyres

Got a bloody nail in one of my front tyres so gonna replace the front two, get the tracking done at the same time!

Got 16" mondy rims, with Hankook Ventus K102's on at the moment, so was just going to replace those.

Can't seem to find K102's anywhere on the net, but most of the tyre website's recommend K105's for the size I need.

One of my mates reckons these tyres are pretty poor, so recommended a few different types (although the K105's were still more recommended and more expensive than his suggestions), but he also got me looking at some Goodyear Eagle F1's.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on here?

Cheers

Keir

On my mondeo i use Falken FK451 and rate them very very highly. Reasonable price and very good grip wet and dry, 205/50zr16.
I would have them on the cossie if they did them in 15", but they don't.

I don't really think thats a fair comparison obviously just a bad un

But of the numerous people i know that have had Avon's they all said, in the dry they grip like nothing else, and in the wet they are fucking lethal

TOYO PROXUS T1R, ace tyres, have used F1GSD3, never again waste of time IMO.
Also UNIROYAL RAINSPORT 1 excellent tyres awsome in wet, very good in dry.
Just put new T1R on front of mondy to replace F1GSD3 that both bulged the sidewalls out!!, difference is amazing, every aspect streets ahead especially grip wet and dry.

Cheers for the info guys.

Been told the tyre aint repairable as the nail is too close to the sidewall

Went down to the garage today just to ask about prices n stuff, the guy down there also recommended the Hankook one's or the Eagle F1's.

The F1's were quite a bit more expensive though, although on the net there's only a few pounds difference, but that obviously don't include fitting/balancing etc

If you had used ULTRASEAL as I do, it would only be a case of pulling the nail out and job done, seals perfect, and cheaper than new tyres.

If you're really on a budget could you not just have an inner tube put in?

Just a thought

When you start getting into BIG commercial vehicles some of the wheels are nearly as big as the vans, would need some hefty equipment to do it

Whan you say thats the first time you've seen it done like that, do you mean fitted by hand, or the way in which he went about it?
