Default Dump valve position

The take off from my dumpvalve is spliced into the same pipes as the ECU uses

I have been told that this can cause "spiking" of the ECU. Is this correct and will it cure this and still function correctly if I simply splice into the pipe at the other side of the throttle body?

not heard of spiking by a dump valve as this is usually associated with electricity, the pipe needs to go in between the cylinder head and the throttle butterfly, not between the turbo and the butterfly as when you let off the throttle the dump valve pipe becomes vacuum instead of pressure thus releasing the pressure on the dump valve piston/diaphram, that is when the excess boost is released psssssssst it should be ok where it is

If your dump valve ever leaks, as well as getting no dumping sound, you will also melt the engine as teh ecu will not see the pressure and hence, will not retard the spark, leading to pinking and destroyed pistons. If you must have one, Its far better off fitted to teh other side leaving the ecu pressure transducer pipe alone.

Why do companies make dump valves if they leak and make rsts cut out. I have a Baileys twin piston type dump valve that works good and doesnt make the car cut out.

Mine was a bailey twin piston and one day it broke and the car wouldnt idle when hot.I ripped the dump valve apart ( coz it was knackered anyway and the one of the springs had snapped.Phoned bailey but they only wanted to sell me a new valve. So now I dont have one.sod em.
