Cunning idea, but a bit of a chew not to mention lazy

Have you tried vise grips, eagle beaks, 6 point socket?
Is it rounded off or just fookin tight?
you could take it to a local garage and get them to heat it up slightly

Bri.

Get a new sump plug ready, then weld a old socket etc on the old one so that you can use the square of the ratchet on it, the heat of the weld will help break it free, also useful for rear diff plugs.
If it is not too far gone use a SIX point socket to remove old one.

Default Stuck sump plug

I have used a hammer and a sharp chisel on the edge of the nut before. Have to be very careful. Once the seal was broken I used a large flat headed screw driver to undo the sump plug the rest of the way.

Hope this helps!
