Default ERST problems...where to start :(

Basically i could not get the car to start and now iv managed.

If i take the hard breather pipe off the back of the inlet, it will start but rev at 4k, put the pipe on and it will idle poorly.
Could this be the valve at the bottom that it connects to?

Secondly, since having problems getting it started, white smoke has been pouring out of the exhaust and when boosting it, oil pours out of the dump valve, is this relate and also why would it be doing this?

Any help on this at all would be apriciated as she is supposed to be getting setup on thursday morning and well thats not looking too promising at the moment

Cheers

Well thats the idle speed control valve so if that aint working that will make it idle like shit as for the smoke i cant see that causing it to smoke so i would say thats another problem you got when you say theres oil coming from the dump valve is it loads??

infact, thats not the pipe iv just had a closer look, its actually on the back and goes off at like a 45 degree angle towards the passenger side, its the same type of piping though possibly slightly smaller

Oil coming from the d/valve is a classic sign the turbo's fookaddd.

Take the boost pipe off the turbo m8 and see if theres any excess play in the turbo, i think there might be, this means the seals in the turbo are fooked meaning replacement time,

this would also explain the white smoke your seeing...

as for your starting probs, im not sure most probally your i.c.v.

You shouldn't be getting shit loads of oil coming out the dump valve sounds like your turbo oil seals may be fucked The only other pipe i can think of that is plastic like the pipe above is the one that goes to the metering head

The oil must be coming from the turbo, through the intercooler pipe,

I bet if you take the bootom boost hose off, you'll find oil contamination if not pools of oil in there...

Just check it out m8, to eliminate it,

cvh, it was zvh, then i brought a new stage 3 head, brand new hybrid turbo, new rad, 2nd hand pace intercooler, and it was running fine, no smoke or nothing because it was brand new, then i started having these starting problems and now iv got it started, its now smoking really bad, it dont smell like its burning oil, its very light in colour the smoke

If its white smoke then it could be headgasket but you still shouldn't be getting as much oil as your saying coming out the dump valve

yeah i suspected headgasket, but im not 100% sure.

When i added water to the tank, it started to chug a bit and then stalled which its never really done before. It dont have mayo or seem to be loosing water however, when i drained the system the water did seem to have a slight bit of oil in it

I still dont think this would cause oil to come out your D/Valve though..

did you get the head checked when the gasket was changed?, have you done a compression check yet? I had exactly the same symptoms with my old one but no water loss etc?

Bri.
