Default S2 having problems getting started

Hi there

The car was running fine, so i decided to but my new radiator and intercooler on there which i did.

It then fired up first time as it always does, and it ran for about 10 mins to bleed the system.

I then when to go and take it for a blast however it stalled, and i thought this may be because it had run out of fuel, so i left it for the rest of the day and i put some fuel in it this morning and its still not firing

Whats the things i need to check? The battery is fine, its cranking as it should do, i can hear the fuel pump priming, its then turning but not firing. If i take the oil cap off i can smell petrol in there so i suspect its getting fuel i just dont know why she aint firing

So any help on things that would be good to check would be of great help.

my king lead is getting a spark so im presuming until i have someone along to help me that all my other ones are sparking.

I didnt even touch the leads so i know they are in the right order because it started yesterday.

grr thing is starting to piss me right off now.

I'd take a plug out and see if your getting a spark to that getting a spark from the king lead just means your coil is working.

if i undo the bolts on the metering head slightly fuel leaks out so again im assuming fuel is going to the head

Then id check to makesure your getting a spark to the plugs mate your dizzy might be fucked and your not getting a spark to the plugs.

the radiator is brand new, but the intercooler is 2nd hand, that wouldnt be fooked and stop it from starting would it?

right definatly getting a spark, and definatly getting fuel but its just turning and turning but not firing.

What else could it be, its really starting to piss me off now i take one step forward and 5 back, its booked in to be setup next weeks so if it aint done buy then il be right fooked off

Cant see that being the problem as it would take a fair bit to block it right up. You could try checking for air leaks

hmm its really starting to bug me, cant see any air leaks, there was one but it ran before with that leak and iv sealed it now anyway

Id check all the hoses mate and makesure there tight if there is an air leak somewhere it will stop it from starting it's like when you take the oil cap off when the car is running it cuts out because that makes an air leak it the system

iv had a closer look just now and they all seem to be on pretty tight, this is really pushing me to my limits im now in 2 minds of wether to sell it even after spending all this money and time on it, im just getting really annoyed

right found out what the problem is, the hard breather pipe going to to the top of the plenum. If i take it off, it starts then revvs at like 4k, put the pipe on then it will idle like shit and loads of white smoke pours out the back....any ideas?

Ten mins isn't long to bleed the system. I'd of left if for at least 20 more then likely 30 mins. Worth another shot bleeding it bud!
