Default Worn Turbo

On my mates series 2 the oil cap keeps getting blown off, his turbo is now taking longer to spin up and when it does you can't notice the power from the turbo, would a worn turbo build up pressure through the oil return pipe to cause the cap to come off or could it be something else.

thanks
Ash

possible but more likely that his breather system is blocked, has he got a boost gauge fitted, the acuator could be wanked

Sounds like a tired engine to me, do a compression check on all cylinders, hot and cold and post the results and we will tell you more

Bri.

you have excessive crank case pressures , if its a tuned car fit a breather system, would be wise to check compression's ( dry & wet ? poss rings.) or preferably a cyl leak off test.

most likely the extra lag could be down to this....
