Default advice on induction kits

Hi everyone, i wonder if anyone can help me, i have been considering fitting a pipercross viper induction kit to my Focus 18i, but after reading some earlier posts 04 05 06 i noticed some people were having problems after fitting K&N induction kits with the ECU and therefore the car would not run correctly, initially i was considering a K&N 57i Gen II induction kit before the viper, that was until i read about fitting a ST170 Snorkel, Auto Air Deflector and an upgraded panel filter, so will these fit without any modifying and will they give me the same sound and performance of the induction kit..

They are a complete waste of time. The biggest restriciton to airflow on the ZETEC in the inlet manifold. Even that can flow enough for about 150 bhp, loads more than you have. Save your cash.

the best air filter mod you can do is take out the original air filter leave the box on but make sure you get some guaze (dodgy spelling) sounds great and costs nothing

wouldn't that allow debris into the fuel and eventually engine sounds dangerous, the filter as got to be there for a reason surely?

if you get some some small mesh tights work a trick but make sure they are secured properly as for dust and things we dont exactly live in spain there is not really any need for an air filter in this country the tights will do the job as long as there secured properly

I dunno i'm still not convinced i knew you could use tights as an emergency repair for a fan belt but i don't know about an air filter I have been looking at the K&N Typhoon Induction kit that looks ok, oh I have another question FSE power boost valve or Ecotek CB-26P valve? or both? any ideas!

Cheers
