yeah the Late sapphires and escort cosworths had a different output shaft in the gearbox see pictures:

the best advise is to get the propshaft end to go with the box your fitting then its just a easy job other wise you have to take the transer off and swap the output shaft.

cheers m8 but mine is a 4x4 mt75 from a sierra cosworth its a G reg, i been told mine is a very early for G reg ,but wat really is the problem is that know its all fitted ,but wen u press the clutch pedal rite down it makes a loud sqeaking sound metalicy but all gear go in ,know if i dont go all the way down it does not make the noise and the gears go in fine say the pedal is about just under 1 inch from the floor ,if you no wat i mean ,also would changing a same gearbox for a nother 1 do that cheers
it must have had a box change before in its time. Do you need the longer output shaft or the shorter? You have definatly got a box from a cosworth because the 2.0 DOHC boxes look the same but clutch pivot & things are different and you could get that noise from that.

just had this, its the release arm for the bearing they split and crack then touch the flywheel you have to take it out and change it,transit suffered lots with it,so ford reinforced it with add on plate spotted all round.
cheers m8 for the info ,tell me did your car do the same ,mine was that wen u put foot on clutch all the way down it screams and squeekes ,but if u press the pedal say leaving 1 inch or from the floor it does not make any noise, also my starter has stoppped it just spins
yes mines a h 4x4,unsure about the starter, but what happens is that the release arm breaks and when you press the pedal to the floor it moves forward more than it should and touches the flywheel which is spinning causing the noise, but if you release slightly it doesnt touch, hopr this helps will try find a pic of what i mean in a bit for ya and post it up.
cheers buddy ,so wats the solution for this ,does this mean the guy who fitted it should of checked it etc, also the guy did tell me that he changed the fork over from my old 1 to th e new 1 cheers help wouyld be most gratefull
he changed the fork over?
ask to see the old one maybe he took them both out and got them mixed up,when mine went it had a hairline fracture i couldnt see so changed the clutch then had the prob you have when took it back out could see the crack and had gone well out of line and was touching the flywheel causing the noise, would take it back if someone did it for you get them to sort it out.

possibly the solenoid has packed in?remove it and leave dangling on wires, then use a jump lead fro its casing to earth it have soeone watch and try it,see if the solenoid chucks the wheel out and spins the otor as if solenoid has died will spin motor but not engage?
yes it was the whole thing
,but the noise is still there but ive put a stopper at the bottom of the pedal so it does not touch the floor ,but the gears are a bit stiff wat u reckon ?

would def still say it would be related to the clutch arm,as if it was not there before and now is which what hapened to me as well,if you take the box out should have scoring on front face of clutch pressure plate from whee it touches btw will eventually kill gearbox as the stiffness is caused because clutch is not disengaging properly and could stop diengaging at any tie if release arm snaps then ould have to be flat bedded home/garage for repair.
cheers m8 for your help in the advert ,the thing is the mt75 which i took off my car had the long shaft ,the 1 i bought i had to get the matching prop why is that cheers plz help
