rear beam bushings 4x4 saph
just dropped the rear beam today as part of a major car/engine rebuild project. how does one remove the old beam bushings
are they pushed out or are they blasted out with dynamite or does one take the hot spanner to them
secondly do the new replacement poly bushes come in 2 halves for instalation can someone shed some light on the subject or even recomend what type or bushes to install bearing in mind every conceivable bushing is being replaced on the rear end
thanks

velo ,
i would not put poly in the rear as it transfers to much harshness and noise.just replace with ears uprated rubber bushs and redo the rose joints.
nice and tight rear end.
just what you like ...

velocity, may be the wrong time to say, now you've removed it... but..
The easiest way is to drop one end of the beam down far enough to get a large socket between the bush and chassis - jack the beam back up against the car's weight and it will pop out.. (that's how i did mine)
On the subject of replacements, I'm going to disagree with Rob (sorry Rob ), I've fitted Deflex polyurethane beam bushes and they are great, no more noticeable noise, but MUCH better location. Maybe other makes of bushes are harsher??
