engine warning light on FOCUS
does anyone know how to reset these things, a mate had a coil pack go on his 1.6 focus, now its fixed and runs fine but the engine warning light is still on.................any tips or is it a FORD job
not at all, the coil problem has registered a fault in the ecu, so hopefully its just a case of having the trouble codes erased.most decent back street garage should have a code reader, and could put the light out.
FIRST pull the K.A.M. fuse for a minute or so see what happens.
Secondly I would be very surpirsed if a duff coil pack would flag a warning as the system has no way of knowing if the thing is working or not, ie wether sparks delivered it only knows that the electric was delvered to coil nothing else.
What is more likely particularly if twin HEGO is that it has flasshed a sensor malfunctuion due to unburnt fuel in exhaust and differential HEGO readings.
