cylinder1 100psi
2 50
3 150
4 150

but at the top of the piston stroke 2 and 3 have a fair bit of movement but 1 and 4 dont now i thought it would be 1 and 2 with the readings any ideas any 1

When you say movement what do you mean - Up and Down ??
Is it not travelling to the top of the bore ??

Have you identified whats made the compression low yet?

Could be valves, gasket, rings/worn/damaged bores, cracked block/head (unlucky if its that )

To clean the head up use a fine emery cloth (it's like sandpaper but it's used for metalwork) & some wd40 ......

If you have solid lumps of gasket on the face then gently use a stanley blade or scrapper BUT it must done carefully as not to pit any of the face.

Khanny mate, i'd get it down to your local engineering place they will usually tell you if it needs a skim or not for free, its always best to have a very light skim doen to make sure it seals up well.

It would probably make there life easyer if you did give it a clean off if it's that dirty but you dont need to take the valves out or any thing

They machine it on a latha Khanny

theres a few different ways of doing it, fly cutting apparently gives the best finish but if the head is very corroded it can take small chunks out apparently.

Clean if off as suggested, i usually find its stuck to the block though (everyone elses always seem to come off with no mess )

Ah right, yours will be fine. Just would of been nice if you had the EFI flywheel on there, because it would make your life VERY easy if you decided you wanted to go EFI soon

Right then.........make sure you fit that fez flywheel (check if its got timing marks in the back)

And is the aluminium crank sensor holder bolted onto the block. Just fit them for now, if you decide to go EFI that is the hardest part of it so you will be WELL ahead of the game

Was told to swap it for the escort 1 something to do with timing or crank sensor or something like that cant quite remember....and what am i looking 4 for the aluminium crank sensor,
also if i do keep the fezzy 1 on do i need to do anything else or just bolt straight to the gear box, and is there anyway to tell if the bottom end is shagged the pistons all move freely tutrning the flywheel and at the tdc of every piston theres no rocking they even look quite new the piston tops
