There is a bit of stink about retro fit ones at mo as said to be illegal.
My dad has 4 litre V8 xr4i with same lights and I put 130/90 H4 bulbs in them with relays 130 w inners made world of difference, well worth doing, what I have in my sapphy cos.
tabetha
ps please post how well they work when you get done, would be very much appreciated.

Ok thanks understand what your saying.. Found them in the new ESP free handout in Fast Ford Mag. They are on page 16, and are in total £325.57...........Because the Hi/dip is H4, and the inner main beam is H3....Please correct me anyone, before I buy them....Any opinions on this would be gratefully recieved... wilmot i recently fitted bi-xenon to my motorbike. superb conversion, well worth doing. gives the vehicle a whole new modern look as well as improved light. not from ESP, but i looked at several different suppliers and the parts look to be identical.

tabetha anything higher than 55/60W in an H4 headlight is illegal. the legality is based on the power, and hid use much less than halogen for a brighter light. they will not be properly legal as they are not validated in combination with the lenses of an old headlight (even if the kit itself is e-marked - although it is usually only the ballast that is)

not a big deal in uk, as long as the beam pattern is satisfactory it will go through an mot and nobody will ever pick it up. it's not the same in all countries though. my german biker mates were jarred that mine was so good as they could not do it

I've done the conversion to my escos, however the light pattern is really funny, you get light escaping 90 degrees on either side, which is llike having another light pointing sideways
Morette conversion should solve this problem.

300 odd pounds is a bit much isn't it? those made in Taiwan ones only cost about 100quid, and about 70quid for made in China ones.

Default HID (High Intensity Discharge) Conversions

Hi boys, well this thread I started is growing in both directions, as to weather I do or dont spend £325 pound on a lighting conversion kit for my Cossy.. Some of you have stated that they work fine and I just read the article by Daniel Stern basically saying they Wont work properly if they are retrofitted because they will have they will have to use "Halogen" reflectors and whilst very bright in the fore ground and look great, long distance lighting which IS needed for High speed driving (70 mph of course) HID retro fitted elements wont work, and if I read his article correctly ARE Illegal........ and that is Not what is stated in the 2007 ESP Catalouge.... So who is right and where can I find out, whats what... ESP have got there info from somewhere, or they would not have printed if .................Would they.....!!!!!!!!!!!! Ultimatly driving at the higher end of our speed limit, the more we can see the safe we are... Someone Must know More than us lot in the great world of www. interweb....... as Clarkson put it.. £325 is a lot of money to spend if the end product is No better than the Original.. thanks Wilmot... p.s. Im also looking on other threads for other Makes of Cars to see what info I can find...

£325?

Have a look on www.hids4u.co.uk. Excellent kits, excellent service and they do a H4 bixenon kit for £259.
