Default Rs turbo S2 release bearing

Just fitting the release bearing to my rs turbo. Currently on the release bearing shaft there seems to be a metal sleave, The nea bearing wont go over the sleave, well it might with a bit of force but no way will it be able to slide up and down the shaft.

I've removed the sleave and put the release bearing on but theres a very sight size difference in the bearing I/D and the Shaft O/D. Im only taking a few tho but enough to cause the bearing to jam when trying it on the the clutch release arm. It prob wont jam with the cover fingers trying to push it back but I would hate to fit the engine back in then find its no good.

Any ideas.

P.S Its a series 2 with one peice release forks if that makes any difference.

Its not a Ford site, but this may help you.

This guy has serious problems with release bearings and the input shaft sleeve aswell.

If its not in the right place scroll down to 30th April 2001

i had the same problem with mine on my frst.
if you go to ford they actually do a release bearing made for the boxes that have been re-conned and been fitted with the sleeve. they do 2 sizes and just ask for the bigger one. fits perfect!
hope this helps
